History of Ramrock: Ch. 9

Ramrock Savings Bank

The bank was founded by a group led by Mr. Rogers of the Rogers, Heart, and Feld Reality Company in 1920.  Mr. Rodgers was one of Ramrock's most prominent citizens, well known for his support of local activities in all the neighborhoods of the town.

The bank was originally a Building and Loan Association which sold shares to local residents.  Shareholders could then apply for loans as funds accumulated at the association. To secure these loans, mortgages were placed on shareholders homes.

After Federal laws changed as the result of the great depression the system changed to the pass book system of today. The Ramrock Savings Bank still continues its mission of providing home financing for residents of Ramford County today.
