Dr. Curie had called her neighbors in Ramavalley Estates and arranged for the team to visit all 15 houses. The same results were repeated in each home - and the Geiger counter clicked at a much higher than expected rate when the team was walking outside from house to house.

The team left "Charcoal Canister" and "Electret Detectors" in the basements, kitchens, and master bedrooms of each of the 15 houses and collected them 4 days later to establish some baseline data for the homes in Ramavalley Estates. Because no homes had been sold since 1988 no tests for Radon had ever been performed.
