| The C.H.I.P.P.E.R.
organization was formed on April, 1978 in conjunction with Earth Day. We
are dedicated to protecting our environment and promoting good health for
Ramford citizens.
Ramford County Health Department (RCMD) has considered the application of DDT for mosquitos in the Ramford area. It is critical to the health of Ramford County residents that all potential SRRV mosquito areas be treated quickly and thoroughly to limit further potential harm to the citizens of Ramford County. While there is concern regarding the risks and side-effects of DDT, C.H.I.P.P.E.R. supports the use of DDT for limited and controlled application. The application will be limited to known habitats of SRRV mosquitos, indicated by the RCHD mosquito traps. Citizens wishing to avoid any potential contact with the presticide, may register with C.H.I.P.P.E.R. to be notified in advance when and where spraying will occur. All proper precautions during application will be taken, and the applications will be restricted to indicated areas. The Ramford County Health Department has asked C.H.I.P.P.E.R to maintain the notification registry, and review any complaints. Your health is our primary concern. |
