P.R.O.F.I.T. recognized the "Best-of-The-Best" at it's annual recognition banquet aboard Carnivore Cruise Lines newest luxury liner the R.S.S. Angelina. Each winner was carefully selected for their commitment to the County, their perseverance in adopting the core values of P.R.O.F.I.T., and in their unswerving dedication to the highest ideals of Orwellian Financial Capitalization (OFiC). Ramford's award winning Companies show the growth possibilities that lie in every sector of
our county's economy. Some are developing leading-edge technologies for the future, such as
the Castleton on Ramford Power Facility (parent company International Energy), which aims to replace
increasingly more expensive oil fired generation capability with its
modern clean coal technology. Then there's Southfield-based North American Motors, a company "Driven To Perform", whose introduction of the LandShark SUV changes forever the way we think about transportation for our families. Ram-A-Net, a satellite-communications services provider which is helping to build tomorrow's digital communication today, recently launched C:\Thru, Ramford's first fiber optic, high-speed Net service. Other winners point back to the past,
while keeping both eyes locked on the future. Iyamgold Corp. has taken
the art of fine jewelry making it inherited from the Renapi Tribes, added
laser engraving technologies and computer supported RAM-CAM design, to
enrich a new business model that is poised to become the springboard to
capturing more than an 87% sales share on the RTV Shop-At-Home network. This year's P.R.O.F.I.T. member companies created a record 1,948 jobs, raising the total in the past five years to over 11,000, despite a net drop of 1,400 in 2001, driven by firms reacting quickly to the economic and market downturn. But we're bouncing back with typical P.R.O.F.I.T. drive. Over the next five years our members plan to create an additional 3,450 much-needed new jobs.
