T.I.E.S. PROJECT PROVISIONS

1.  Each school may send 2-5 teachers for training.

2.  Teachers will receive a stipend of  $1,200 (60/day) to participate in the "On-line" Institute and attend the "On-site" Institute.

"On-line" Institute - 60 hours on-line during the month of July, 2000  (July 5-30)

"On- site"  Institute - 10 days (60 hours) July 31- August 11, 2000 at one of the three locations:

  • Ramapo College
  • South Brunswick High School
  • Ulster County NY - Environmental Management Commission

3.  Teacher resource packages including books, reading materials, visual aids, and instructional activity portfolios.

4.  Technical assistance throughout the year.

THE SCHOOL DISTRICT WILL PROVIDE:

1.  The computer and software for classroom implementation of TIES.

2.  Authorization and allocation of time for project graduates to provide  in-service workshops for their school or district in use of the technology and this innovative approach to  teaching.
 
Ramapo College will offer graduate credit (4 credits) for satisfactory completion of the project.  

Register for SGET 640 -  Environmental Health  - Tuition $275/credit payable to Ramapo College of NJ.  (NOT REQUIRED FOR PARTICIPATION).
