Week 1

What is the Perfect PC?  A colleague has just come to you and asked for advice on buying a new computer.  What questions would you ask them?  What advice would you give them?  You should be able to give them a good idea of what they can expect to pay as well. You will have to consider a Name-Brand pc versus a Clone. You should also be able to give them general ideas on the minimum specifications you would suggest based on their answers. Please submit this as a web based tutorial for users. The next time someone asks you for advice, you can tell them to start with your page! Provide links to 2 - 3 worthy articles that you think are helpful. Starter Page

Last Project

Your school principal has just told you that you, being the savvy computer person you are, are going to design small networked computer centers for all of the classrooms on your grade level. As these centers will be the same for all classrooms, she wants a completed proposal for just one. You will need to consider how many computers are needed, the type of computer and network equipment and the total cost. These labs will need to be generic enough to meet the needs of all of the classrooms in your grade level. However, you may choose to add one or two specialty items (i.e., a scanner, a digital camera) as long as you can justify them. This proposal should include a general idea of what you hope to accomplish with these labs: tied to the curriculum. She wants this proposal to be posted on the web for the rest of the Technology Committee to review. AND she needs it by next week. You will present your solution to the class.
