Overview: Importing Files

You may add files to your FrontPage web that were not created there. It is important to do this through a process called importing. You should not add files to a web through "My Computer" or "Windows Explorer" like you might in other circumstances. Any adding, deleting, or renaming of files should be done when open in FrontPage.

Importing Files

• Open your FrontPage Web

• Click on the folder into which you want to import files

• File | Import | Add File 

• Pull down the menu next to the "Look in" box and navigate to the file or files you wish to import

• Select one or more files (to select more than one file, click the first, depress and hold down the ctrl key, continue clicking on any files you wish to select)

• Click Open | OK

Importing Folders

This will bring whole folders and any contents of those folders into your web.

• Open your FrontPage Web

• Click on the folder into which you want to import another folder. If you wish to bring the folder into the highest level of your web, select the folder at the very top of the list.

• File | Import | Add Folder 

• Pull down the menu next to the "Look in" box and navigate to the file or files you wish to import

• Select one Folder

• Click Open | OK
