Install Microsoft Access on Your Home Computer (home)

If you do not already have Office 2007 installed on your home computer, you can download and install a trial version by going to http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access/default.aspx and following the directions there. It is important that you download the trial for Windows Professional as other versions of the Office Suite will not include access.

  • This installation will not overwrite earlier versions of Office. You will have access to the new applications and your older versions as well.

  • It will be active for a period of 60 days after which it will no longer function.

  • It will install all of the office products so you can get a feel for the new Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. if you wish.

  • If you have Outlook currently installed on your computer, the new version will not install as two versions can not exist simultaneously.

If you do wish to purchase Access for your home computer, search for academic pricing. Various sites are listing the software for between $110 and $115 for those who qualify for academic pricing. The college bookstore may be able to get Access for you so you might want to check out their prices. There may be other channels with better pricing so search around.
