Brains Assessment Part II:

First - open and print the directions.

Second - Using the following directions, download and extract the Part II exercise files.

This file is in a "Zip" or compressed format. Once you click on this link, you will need to save the file to your USB drive.  Once saved, you may close all of the Internet windows and open your USB drive.  You should see the file named "assignment files.zip."  Depending on your computer type, you will need to follow different directions on how to 'unzip' or extract the files.

If you are on a Windows XP or Vista machine:

  1. Find the file
  2. Right-click on the file
  3. Select (Left-click) the option "Extract"

You will be asked a series of questions - where to unzip the files etc.  If you have saved this file on your thumb drive, the file will extract to your thumb drive. You should not have to make any choices during the extraction process - just follow it through to the end by clicking on 'Yes' or 'Next' where appropriate.  Once extracted, you will see a newly created folder called "Assignment Files" on your thumb drive.  Double click on the folder to open up the files and folders that you will need to complete the exercise.

Follow the directions to the best of your ability.  Remember that the objective of this exercise is to assess your skill level.  It is not graded, it will not be used to judge future work.  It simply allows us to target weaker areas and reinforce stronger ones.  Good luck!
