Requirements
- Attendance and participation in class discussions.
If you anticipate an absence, you must notify the instructor via email asap.
- Complete individual and class assignments.
During the course of the semester there will be formal readings,
group, and homework assignments. In addition, points will be
awarded for short additional assignments offered throughout the semester.
- Three Proficiencies:
Each proficiency will challenge the student to demonstrate the ability to
complete specific web design tasks. Topics will be taught the week
before. Each student may RE-take an alternate proficiency an
additional one time if not satisfied with the grade.
- Portfolio Completion: At the end of this course,
students will have organized and updated their individual portfolios.
- Course Project
- Proposal: Create a web-based
proposal for the final. This proposal will contain goals &
objectives of site, overall structure/navigation of the site, selected
color scheme and proposed extended technologies and techniques used in
final project site.
- Course Project: Create a web-based multimedia unit for a lesson of
your choice, a series of tech-tips specific to your district or classroom, or
a scavenger hunt, treasure chest, or web quest. This will consist of at
least 5 extended web authoring techniques studied during the class.
Reading Requirements
- All reading assignments will be listed on the course
website or prepared for students each week.
Materials
All students are required to have and use a
mass storage device such as a thumb-drive or zip drive.
