Admission Requirements
Graduate Educational Technology students generally are both recent graduates and those who graduated a number of years ago, many of whom have been teaching for a number of years. No entrance examinations are required. However, applicants will be asked to provide the following:
- An official undergraduate transcript from an accredited college or university indicating a 3.00 or higher GPA;
- An essay describing why the candidate is interested in the MSET program, how it fits into personal intellectual
development, and what the applicant expects to accomplish by enrolling;
- Two letters of recommendation from two individuals who can attest to the candidate's intellectual ability or potential;
- An interview with the director or appropriate faculty representative;
- A State-issued teaching certificate;
- The transcripts of applicants submitting international credentials must be evaluated by World Education Services;
- Students who are not native speakers of English must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language examination and achieve a minimum score of 550;
- Admissions in the MSET Program are rolling. This means that people may enter the program at any time in the year and begin courses in the nearest next semester.
- Note: Although greater than 90% of our students are certified teachers, certification is not required to enter the program and complete the degree. However, the MSET degree does not come with teacher certification.
